Mame Clothing >Extras >Articles > Sheri Zombie Interview

For those just piecing it together, the creator of the new Label Total Skull is the Queen of Scream, Rock and Gore Sheri Zombie! The ultimate in KILLER style!

Total Skull is now available to purchase from Mame Clothing, in store and online and we were very fortunate to have Sheri answer a few of our questions!

How have the last 6 months been for you juggling the Halloween prequel/remake and running Total Skull?

Sheri: Oh I've been a bit crazed, but I have managed so far!!! Basically it's like having 2 full time jobs.

What inspired you to create Total Skull and how do you come up with the designs?

Sheri: I've always wanted to have a line of sorts and I finally had an opening in our touring schedule and decided that it was now or never. I really like to create designs that I would wear, I like a sort of sexy, cool, rokin' vibe and I am stoked that other people like that vibe too!!!

The Skull masks are killer! People with such a broad range of styles seem to love them from Punks, Goths, Metal Heads, Emo’s, Bikers you name it.
Are you catering for any specific group or is it just a matter of creating what you like?

Sheri: Hahaha - Those skull masks rock!!! I actually sort of made 'em becuase when we were on tour, there would be pyro dust and smoke from the smoke machines and it gave the guys in the band and us dancers a little respite from breathing in all the crap, but it turns out that they are great for bikers, snowboarders and anyone. I am making glow in the dark ones, they are coming soon!!!

A lot of our customers are huge Rob Zombie fans and were exposed to Total Skull through the band wearing the masks and tees. Do you think Rob will ever bring the live show to Australia?

Sheri: Wow, we actually went to Australia with his former band White Zombie about 10 or 11 years ago and loved it!!! I would love for him to tour there again, but he is busy directing films now, so no quite sure if it'll happen :(

What’s it like being on the road touring with Rob Zombie?

Sheri: Being on the road is the best man -- Don't have to cook or do laundry or make my bed!!! I love being on the tour bus with out little traveling circus. The best part though is the hour and a half of dancing on stage and watching Rob and the guys!!!

We have House of a 1000 Corpses Baby and Spalding figurine 2 packs on our shelves. Does it ever creep you out knowing there are figurines of you?

Sheri: Hahaha --- It doesn't creep me out, it's kinda cool, I really just get hyper critical on making sure they try to make it look like me, and that process is a long one, I guess it's difficult to do the nuances of a female face as opposed to a male's --- Why? I don't know!!!!

Can you tell us about the upcoming animated film El Super Beasto and your Characte Suzi X?

Sheri: Not surer when it's coming out yet, I know that all the voiceovers are done and they are still working on the animation (which takes forever!!!) Suzi X is the ass-kickin' sister of ex-wrestler superstar "El Superbeasto." It's a super fun, nasty little cartoon.

What does the future hold for Total Skull?

Sheri: Well, I am currently working on a small production for spring/summer and then some nice denim for fall.

What does the future hold for Sheri Zombie?

Sheri: Good health and happiness with my husband!!!

Is there anything you would like end with?

Sheri: Be sure to check out the film 'Grindhouse' to see my appearance in "Werewolves of the SS" as Eva Krupp and of course "Halloween" will be hitting theatres in the states at the end of August.

Thanks so much - your store rocks it with Total Skull!!!

Thanks Sheri we appreciare it!
